Providence is an incredibly interesting and historic city, founded in 1636, meaning that there are plenty of old buildings and sites to see. Providence is also 10% water, so water activities like swimming in the summer are among the many things to do! Swimming in your residential pool is always a good option as well, yet before unveil your pool for summer swimming, there are some important things to consider.
If you are an owner of a residential pool, it is important to comply with the laws surrounding private pools, and the ownership requirements. As Providence is a part of the State of Rhode Island, residents need to follow the state laws, although it is also a good idea to check with local authorities to see if there are any extra regulations on top of the state laws. According to state law, all residents that own swimming pools need to have a pool fence around the pool of at least four feet (although if you have an above-ground pool, the barrier requirement should be satisfied by the walls of the pool). Even if you have a spa or hot tub, don’t think that you are exempt from this law; you will need to comply as well (although you are exempt from barrier requirements if you have a safety cover over the spa or hot tub). These fencing rules may seem excessive, but they are put into place to especially protect children, whether it’s the children that live in the residence, or children from the surrounding area.
For decades we have created quality pool fencing and have expert technicians who will install it for you. In the City of Providence and the State of Rhode Island, the fences also have other requirements such as the gate of the fence needs to be self-closing, self-latching, and the gate also needs to be able to lock. Fortunately, the Katchakid fences have all of these attributes in their product, so you also complying with the law when you purchase from us, no add-ons necessary.
