What Is a Katchaleaf Debris Cover?
What It Does
A Katchaleaf is a fine knitted mesh cover, cut to the shape of your pool and fastened to anchors in the surround. It keeps leaves, twigs, pine needles, seed pods and bugs out of the water, and because the mesh is open, rain drains through rather than sitting on top. Spring cleanup is a vacuum of fine silt, not a shovel-out of decomposing debris.
It is shaped around spas, boulders, rockeries, water features and irregular pool outlines, and anchors into flagstone, concrete, aggregate, brick, tile or wood decks.

What It Is Made Of
The mesh is a lightweight, UV-stabilized knitted polyethylene that stays supple in cold weather and is designed to stay in place in wind and rain, sitting flat over the water rather than catching the wind. The construction, the fittings and the fabric test data are on Materials & Components.

Is a Katchaleaf a Safety Cover?
No — and the distinction matters, because “pool cover” is used loosely in the industry to mean two very different things.
A safety cover is built and tested to hold weight, to the ASTM F1346-23 standard. A debris cover is built to keep the water clean. The Katchaleaf is a debris cover, not a safety barrier.
If what you want is a barrier over the water surface, our pool safety net is the product designed for that job — it is custom-fitted to the pool and, depending on the pool and its surround, can be installed to meet ASTM F1346-23 when installed as specified.

How Much Does a Katchaleaf Cost?
Most Katchaleaf covers run $1,900–$3,500 before tax, depending on the size and shape of the pool and the number of fixing points needed.
Most orders are for medium and larger pools. Smaller pools and spas are often quick enough to clear by hand, so a cover earns its keep less often at that size.
