Depending on the pool and its surround, a Katchakid net can be installed to meet ASTM F1346-23. A pool safety net is one layer of protection. No barrier is childproof, and none replaces close, constant adult supervision — replace, tension and secure the net after every swim.

Made for the Pool You Actually Own

Freeform pools, raised spas, rockwork, grottos and limited deck space — the system is determined by the individual layout and the surfaces available for anchoring.

Where It All Began

The Original Katchakid Photograph

Scanned from a print, this is the photo that ran in our earliest advertising — and has been borrowed by more than a few others since. The little one on the net would be somewhere in their late 30s or early 40s by now. If that’s you, we would love to hear from you.

A photograph from another era. Today we ask that nobody, of any age, goes onto the net: it is a barrier over the water, not a place to play.

How It Works

01
Priced From Your Actual Pool

For most properties, a specialist prepares a free, no-obligation estimate from aerial imagery of your pool. No appointment, no size chart.

02
Specified for Your Property

Shape, surfaces, access and features decide the anchor layout, the tensioning and any specialty fittings. The written proposal spells out exactly what’s included.

03
Fitted in a Single Visit

A certified Katchakid installer measures, anchors, tensions and shapes the net to your pool’s edge — usually 4–7 hours on an average-sized pool.

04
Handed Over, Not Just Installed

Before leaving, the installer walks you through removal and replacement until you’re comfortable — typically 3–5 minutes off, 5–8 back on. Then it’s simply part of the routine: net off to swim, net on when you’re done.

Is a Pool Safety Net Right for Your Property?

A Pool Net May Suit When:

  • You want a barrier directly over the water
  • A complete isolation-fence route may be challenging — for example, where the pool sits close to the house and windows or doors open onto the pool area
  • You prefer to preserve an open view across the backyard
  • The responsible adults will replace and secure the net after every swim
  • Part of the pool edge has no deck — planting, boulders or a raised wall — so there is nowhere for fence poles to stand

A Pool Fence May Suit When:

  • You want to restrict access to the entire pool area
  • The property supports a complete isolation route
  • You prefer regular access through a self-closing, self-latching gate
  • A gate fits the household routine better than removing and replacing a net

Anchors need a firm, solid surface; loose stone, gravel and soft ground are assessed on site before we quote.

Neither product is automatically the right choice for every pool — the decision is yours, and the right barrier is the one your household will use correctly every time. Compare a pool net and pool fence in full.

    What Net Customers Say

From our Trustpilot reviews — 4.9 out of 5 from 2,100+ reviews.

    ★★★★★

“Rogelio came to install our pool net. He did an awesome job and was clear with the instructions of use. I'm very happy with this product and definitely recommend Katchakid 's pool net.”

Jill Endsley — August 2026, via Trustpilot
    ★★★★★

“We moved into a house that had an existing 18 year old net, but some anchors around the pool had been previously filled in. Matt came to the house, evaluated the existing net, and gave us a quote to replace the filled in anchors. On his next visit, he replaced the anchors and showed us how to install and un-install the net.”

    Frequently Asked Questions

Most pool safety net installations run $1,500–$4,000 before tax, with the average around $2,600. Price depends on pool size and shape — every net is measured and custom-fitted on site. We offer free consultations and a price match policy — terms apply.

Every Katchakid net comes with a Hand Tensioner, a roller for easy removal and storage, and a full set of deck anchors, professionally installed by a certified Katchakid technician in a single visit — typically 4–7 hours. Your installer shows you how to fit and remove the net before they leave.

Depending on the pool and its surround, a Katchakid pool safety net can be installed to meet ASTM F1346-23 — the American Society for Testing and Materials standard for manual pool safety covers. Qualification depends on the completed system and installation, not the mesh alone. A net is one layer of protection: always replace it securely after every swim.

A net secures the water surface; a fence keeps children out of the entire pool area. Many families layer both. See our pool net vs pool fence comparison or ask us — the right choice depends on the property layout, access points, household routine and which barrier responsible adults will use correctly every time.
